NEURO LINGUISTIC PROGRAMMING (NLP)
NLP developed as a model of communication.
The founders of NLP, Richard Bandler and John Grinder modelled three people.... Virginia Satir, Milton Erickson and Fritz Perls. Each of these three people achieved outstanding successes within their fields, each achieving remarkable, if not miraculous results with their clients. Bandler and Grinder modelled their communication and developed what is now known as the Meta Model and the Milton Model of communication.
Neuro represents the nervous system, (the mind.) Our experiences are processed through our senses:
Visual what we see Kinestetic what we feel Auditory what we hear Olfactory what we smell
Gustatory what we taste
Linguistic represents language, both verbal and non-verbal communication. We give meaning to the communication from what we see, feel, hear, smell and taste as well as the words
of self talk.
Programming is the ability to use the communication systems with others and ourselves to achieve our desired outcomes.
NLP, simply put, is the study of excellence and how to model it.
The study of the language of the mind and how to utilize it to create change in ourselves and others.
